Oune was born in Laos in 1972 and came to the US as a Vietnam War refugee when he was 5. He became a naturalized US citizen in 1994. Oune grew up in Ames, IA and lived there until he moved to Lee’s Summit, MO, in 1997. Oune worked at Pfizer until the Lees Summit plant closed. He was a stay-at-home Dad for several years. Most recently, he was employed part-time at Lees Summit West High School. Oune had a laid back disposition, it was hard to get him to hurry or take anything too seriously. Oune’s favorite things included hanging out at home with family or close friends, playing cards, and pranking people. He was a great cook; his family may now starve. He was a body builder who always made time for the gym. Oune’s associate degree was in auto-body; he loved cars. He will be deeply missed and left a legacy of love and laughter.
