Janet Louise (Hoke) Jensen, 77 of Blue Springs, Mo. Passed away on June 19, 2018. Funeral service will be held at Langsford Funeral Home on Saturday July 7, 2018 at 2:00pm, visitation will be held from 1:00pm – 2:00pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to Lottie Moon Offering International Mission Board in Richmond, VA.
Mrs. Jensen was born on November 14, 1940 in Grandview, Mo. Jan loved children. She was a Sunday school teacher and she was at her happiest with infants. She was a teacher in Blue Springs and was glad to go back to school to earn a Master’s Degree at UMKC at age 40. She was gifted in hospitality and loved to entertain family and friends.
We will miss her gentle manner and genuine smile.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Viola Hoke, sister Loretta Freeland and infant sister Marybelle.
Survivors include her husband Helmer Jensen of Blue Springs, Brother Ben (Marilyn) Hoke and brother in law David Freeland. Son Helmer III (Shannon) Jensen of Port Elizabeth South Africa, a daughter Cara (Paul) Loser of San Antonio, TX, sister in law Karen (Phil) Gier, brother in law George (Kathy) Jensen of Estill Springs, TN. Also surviving are 10 grand children and 9 nephews and nieces.
