Shirley Fender was one of my it takes a village moms who helped raise me through years of friendship with Kathy. We had countless times at her house spread all over the floor and she and Jim were always gracious hosts and loving and stern enough at times to make us go to sleep. We had countless sweet breads and iced tea in her kitchen especially when she lived near our junior high school. She always listened to our oh-so-important tales of school and boys and petty hurts; our hopes and dreams with an easy laugh and a warm hug to share joys and tears. When I think of my wonderful childhood filled with church and MYF camps together and dances and sleep overs and birthdays I cannot separate the entwined support of my mom with Jill and her mom and Shirley and Kathy. Thank you God for sending angel Shirley to this earth to live amongst us and spread your love. She will be missed but the angels are glad to have her back in peace. Love Deb and Bert Schulte
