Shirley Joan Zook, 84, passed away at 2:18 AM on Friday, December 09, 2016 at the John Knox Village House in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Judson Church, 2800 Black Rd., Joliet, Illinois 60435.Mrs. Zook was born on January 25, 1932 in Carroll County, Indiana to Everett and Ina (Henry) Newby. She was united in marriage on November 5, 1950 to William Joseph Zook in Carroll County, Indiana. She worked as a secretary at Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Florida. Shirley loved to paint, make quilts, and listen to music. She especially enjoyed being a part of her church and being a Bible teacher.Shirley is survived by her children, Creig Zook and wife Lisa of Shorewood, Ill, Debra Smeeton of Lee’s Summit, MO, Donna Hogan and husband Kevin of Franklin, WI, and Chris Zook and wife Robin of Colorado Springs, CO; 13 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; brother, Raymond Newby; sister, Marilyn Walkup; and son-in-law, Donald Smeeton.
