Robert A. Viets Sr., 94, passed away on December 24, 2015. Bob was born in Cole Camp, MO on December 9, 1921 to Leora and Otto Viets, Sr. After several jobs, Bob went to work for Missouri Photo Engravers, retiring in 1982. Bob was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Lee’s Summit. He was an avid golfer, once getting a hole in one. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVon in 2006 after 61 years of marriage; his son, Gary; and 2 brothers, Hillard and Otto Viets, Jr. Bob is survived by his children, Robert Viets, Nancy Viets, and Barbara Edwards, all of Lee’s Summit, and Patty McCurdy from Sacramento, CA. He had 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on December 27, from 5-7pm at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit. Funeral services will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church at 11am the following day. Burial at Lee’s Summit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Matthews Lutheran Church. He will be missed by all who loved him.
