Obituary for Marlyce A. "Marty" Denney

Marty “Nana” Denney born on November 3, 1942 in Chillhowee, MO to Estel and Esther Brown, passed away on July 22, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza due to an Aneurysm.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Denney of 15 years; daughters, Kelly and husband Jim
Wenninghoff, Shelli and husband Michael Cooney; Step-daughter, Stacey and husband Mark Wilson, daughter, Amy Cripe; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was one of those amazing people that never met a stranger, could make all those she came into contact with feel like the most important person in the room and spread unconditional love wherever she went. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as many “honorary” family members that started out as friends or neighbors. She loved to travel and was known far and wide as an excellent baker. She would bring Christmaxs breads and cookies to her doctor’s offices, neighbors, friends and family, always choosing their favorites for each container. She was even known to ship these packages all over the country to those that had moved away. She would go out of her way to help others, sometimes to the detriment of her own health.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday August 26th from 1-4pm at the Park Ridge Clubhouse at 4309 NE Park Ridge Dr. – Lee’s Summit, MO 64064. A private graveside service will be held for family members. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hope House at https://9404.thankyou4caring.org
