Lewis Milton  Williams
Lewis M. Williams, age 79, of Shell Knob MO, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, in St. Lukes East Hospital, Lee's Summit MO surrounded by his loving family. His memorial service will be on May 4, 2018, at Lee's Summit Community Church at 11:00 AM in the East Auditorium, 1440 SW Jefferson Street, Lee's Summit MO 64081.

He was born December 4, 1938, in Detroit, MI, the son of Lewis and Patricia (Peterson) Williams. At age 16 he joined the Bryan and Ida (Bowman) Roesch family in Quinter KS. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Williams in Hardin, MO on June 28, 1958.

He is survived by two daughters, Louann Tummons and husband Philip of Columbia Falls MT; and Lori Werth and husband David Werth of Lee's Summit MO. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Darrell and wife Courtney Werth of Shawnee KS, Dusty Werth and husband Rusty Richards of Lee's Summit MO, Dylan and wife Kayla Werth, Aria, Nora, Bentley and Asher of Lee's Summit MO, Emily Tummons of Overland Park KS and Avery and wife Kallie Tummons of Overland Park KS. Also, surviving are two sisters Elizabeth Wynn and husband Ed, Doris Snyder and husband Dale of Hiawatha KS; one brother Royce Roesch and wife Mary of Quinter KS.

Preceding him in death was his loving wife Shirley; his parents Lewis and Patricia Williams, sister Alice Binkley and his adopted parents Bryan and Ida Roesch.

Lewis graduated from Quinter High School and completed his education at McPherson College and Fort Hays State University.

Throughout his life, he worked at many vocations, teacher, farmer/rancher, business owner, and Sheriff of Gove County. He loved to spend time with his family. Other interests and hobbies were gardening, landscaping, and his love for animals.
