Virginia Ann DeVeney, 86, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Raytown, Missouri.
Virginia was born on July 7, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri to Leonard Anthony and Helen Agnes (Czech) Ligeko. She graduated from Glennon High School in 1948. She then got her Bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University. In 1978, she was united in marriage to Richard Deveney. Virginia worked for Ford Motor Company, TWA, Alcoa Aluminum, and Yellow Freight. She retired after working for about 47 years.
Virginia loved to crochet, socialize and attended Shepherd Center Activities, travel, go out to eat, go see a movie, and playing bingo at Hy-Vee.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 2 step sons. She is survived by her sisters, Marie Hutson, DiDi Ligeko, and Patty Basham and husband Bill; step sons, Rick DeVeney and Mike DeVeney; nieces and nephews, Rick Hutson and wife Kim, Cheri Hutson, Tim Green, Terry Green and wife Ann, Leslie Bonen and husband Tim; 5 great nieces and nephews; and her cat, Kitty Ana.
