Obituary for John Farber

John  Farber
John Farber, 88, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away March 21, 2018. Services will be Monday March 26, 2018 at the John Knox Village Chapel. Burial will follow at Lee’s Summit Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lake Lotawana Community Club.
John was born October, 27, 1929 to Myrell and Reuel A. Farber in St. Joseph, MO. He graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph. John served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad for 28 years and a member of the United Transport Union.
John helped organize the Prairie Township Rescue Unit of Lake Lotawana, MO and was an active member for 30 years. He was a volunteer fireman for Lake Lotawana for 36 years and was a member of the Lake Lotawana United Methodist Church.
John is preceded in death by his wife, Cleobel (Scottie); parents; and brother, Reuel Farber, Jr. Survivors include his 2 nieces, Nancy Farber Osgood, Prairie Village, KS and Carolyn Farber Cunningham, of St. Joseph, MO; and his Vertin and Scott Families.
Those who loved John will remember his devotion to the Rescue Unit and Fire Department. He enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews on boat rides, riding his waverunner, traveling, and exercising with the “Bally Bunch.”
