Amanda Louise "Lou" Oetting, 82, passed away in her home on December 27, 2017, in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Lou, a longtime resident of Lake Lotawana, MO, was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her life is marked by a love for education, having faithfully served as a librarian for Mason Elementary School for much of her life. The joy brought to her by the students and teachers of Mason remained long after her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Richard "Dick" Oetting. She is survived by her son Rick and his wife Mona; grandchildren Trey (with wife Hillary), Ryan, and Caitlin; and great-grandchildren Giuliana, Kendall, and Carmen.

Visitation for Lou will be held at 1:00 pm and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Lansford Funeral Home, 115 W. 3rd Street, Lees Summit, MO, 64063.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Lou Oetting to either the Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church or the Mason Elementary School Library.
