Emily L. Roach, 84, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away peacefully on October 25, 2017 with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. She was born August 20, 1933 in Kansas City, MO to Henry and Martha (Madison) Pattee.
Her family moved to Tulsa, OK where Emily graduated from Holland Hill School. She attended the University of Oklahoma. After college she was a stewardess for Braniff Airways, enjoying the travels and interacting with people. Emily – or Emylu as her family and friends affectionately called her - was a longtime member of the Kansas City Young Matrons, the Daughters of the American Revolution (a direct descendant of President James Madison) and the Children’s Community Theater Group. She was proud of her heritage and passed this onto her children. Emylu was an avid bridge player and cat lover.
Emylu raised her five children in Kansas City. Later she lived in Harlingen, TX with her husband Donald Roach, who preceded her in death. She returned to Lee’s Summit to be by family and friends. She is also preceded in death by her son Joseph (Jay) Neuner and daughter Janet (Jan) Mitchell, and is survived by her brother Guinotte (Freddie) Wise of La Cygne, KS, sons Jerry (Karri) Neuner of Colorado Springs, CO, Steve (Suzanne) Neuner of Lee’s Summit and Richard (Sol) Neuner of Waldorf, MD along with her grandchildren Shannon, Eric, Kyle and Kinsey.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd St, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063.
