Obituary for Jim S Noel

Jim S  Noel
Mr. Jim S. Noel passed away on Wednesday, 08 June 2016. He was born in Lone Jack, Missouri on 16 October 1917. Jim later married a high school girlfriend, Mildred Lee Noel, who was born on 24 November 1918. Mildred preceded Jim Noel in death on 13 August 2001. Jim Noel received a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, and was inducted into the U.S. Army on 23 June 1943. He was sent to England to join the fighting during World War II. Jim was eventually assigned to the OMGUS Chemical Section, Industrial Branch, Economics Division, and served in Germany until his discharge on 01 April 1946. Jim Noel was awarded the: European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Three Overseas Bars. Jim Noel worked for the State of Missouri inspecting nursing homes, until he was lured away by the city of Kansas City, Missouri. Jim was the Assistant Director of the Pollution Control Department from 01 May 1970 until 03 May 1982, when he retired. Jim Noel was a member of a local Masonic Lodge, where he was active for many years in several of their organizations. In addition, Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit, as well as the Missouri Section of the American Water Works Association. Jim’s family farm was well over 150 years old. The farm was also a part of The Battle of Lone Jack (Missouri) during the Civil War. Over four generations of the Campbell’s have assisted the Noel family in farming the land. It is a relationship that continues to this day. Jim had no children, and has no surviving family members. He had grown close to his caregivers; Angie, Monica & Suzie. Jim had a father-like relationship with his former secretary, Mrs. Gailla Rogers, for over 40 years. Although Jim had no children, he was loved, and he leaves a huge hole in our lives. Visitation on Monday, 13 June 2016, from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, immediately followed by a service. A motorcycle escort will depart at 2:15 p.m. for the Forest Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.
