Obituary for Patrick Dean Yount

Patrick Dean Yount age 50, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Kansas City Hospice House. He was born April 5, 1964 in Kansas City, MO. Lee’s Summit, MO was his current home with his life partner Mark Johnson. Patrick was a 1982 graduate from Ruskin High School. After finishing high school he received his B.A. in Communications from UMKC. Throughout his life he was an active and respected member of the Arts Community in Kansas City as an actor, singer, and supporter. He was a founding member of the Board of Directors for the Lee’s Summit Theatre Group. He worked for the Lyric Opera for 12 years as the Development Manager and as the Development Director for the Coterie Theatre for 6 years. He loved spending time and making memories with his partner, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, his Trinity United Methodist family and numerous beloved friends. His heart, light, and laughter ended way too soon and he will be remembered, loved and cherished by all that knew him. “A Little Song, A Little Dance, A Little Seltzer Down your pants.”

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Betty (Wheeler) Yount. Patrick is survived by his partner Mark Johnson and his cousins Bing Bingham, Jerry Bingham, Chris Bingham, Travis Bingham, Bethany Duckworth, and Amanda Rutledge and numerous second cousins, and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3pm March 6th at Langsford Funeral Home with a burial in Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be from 1pm to 3pm March 6th at Langsford Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House & Palliative Care.
